daily blog
Give us this day our daily blog, & forgive us our trespasses just like Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane: I've got every sacrament behind me, or at least I adhere to this belief structure publically, even though I am sometimes aghast at what "Christians" believe.
So anyway, yesterday the Layout was closed in the morning -- Staff was having a X-mas party. We also didn't want to go because it's damn cold. Car-girl picked Trish up around 1/4 till 11, then I busied myself with typewriter torment. I finished the Mindstorm chapter about Reality (Reality is the Greatest) & then went on to the next chapter, but want to go back cuz I didn't go far enough beyond Love & Death. The next one's about Hitman S. Hunter knowing Fear & Loathing in the Hotel Gonzo.
Although the soup kitchen is just a shot away, I elected to stay home & eat a light lunch at home, waiting for TA time with Car-girl. She called up & told me she'd be 15 minutes late, so I kicked back in the Captain's chair & listened to Roxy Music. When she arrived we took Miss Congeniality 2 (bleh!) back to Fat Albertson's, then to the Downtown Dollar Store for soap, dish soap, & toothpaste. After that we went to Pizza Hut & ordered a diet Mr. Fruity while we waited for Trish to finish work. Trish sat with us & ate a salad, then we went to the Iron Claw Credit Union to take out money for car insurance & root killer. This time, we bought it from the hardware store, rather than Bi-Mart; straight meets gay where the girl goes on. After that we paid our insurance bill & came home.
Trish reached 15 on Penguins last night. I took my bath shortly after supper, while she turned the TV to While You Were Sleeping -- but I decided to call Buffalo Bob & got his wife instead. She was somewhat skeptical about my odds of being published, until I told her some of the things that have been said about my writing (while manic or on drugs). (Indeed, being accused of "writing on drugs" convinced me to pull Mindstorm from the queue at Critters.) She said she'd look for my hot book & her husband's review on www.amazon.com where you can buy it (under the title The Mind-Warp Era) if you really want to help a starving artist, & maybe get an idea why, in the hands of someone other than a P.O.D., see why it might potentially sell well.
